Community Guidelines
Last updated: January 23, 2026
Our Promise
Chosn exists to give childfree adults a place that feels safe, welcoming, and genuinely theirs. So many of us have spent years explaining ourselves, defending our choices, or being told we will change our minds. Here, that is not the deal. You start from a place of being understood.
These guidelines describe how we keep this space respectful for everyone. They apply everywhere on Chosn: profiles, messages, photos, and any community features we offer. By using Chosn, you agree to follow them. We hold everyone to the same standard, and we enforce these rules so the community stays the kind of place people actually want to be.
What We Expect From You
The community works when each of us shows up with care. We ask that you:
- Be kind and respectful. Treat other members the way you would want to be treated, even when you disagree
- Be honest. Represent yourself accurately, in your photos, your bio, and your intentions
- Respect boundaries. Accept a no gracefully. If someone is not interested or stops replying, move on
- Respect privacy. What members share here stays here. Do not screenshot or repost private conversations without consent
- Look out for each other. If you see something that feels wrong, report it. You help keep this community safe
Be Authentically You
Real connection starts with real people. We ask that everyone on Chosn presents themselves honestly:
- Use recent photos that actually show you, not someone else and not heavily altered images
- Be truthful about your age, your name, and your story
- Maintain one account per person. Duplicate or throwaway accounts are not allowed
- Chosn is for childfree adults. Join because this community reflects who you are, not to argue with or convert the people in it
Misrepresenting who you are erodes the trust this whole community depends on, and it is grounds for removal.
What Is Not Allowed
To protect the community, the following content and conduct are prohibited anywhere on Chosn:
- Harassment and bullying. Repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, threats, or any effort to demean or pressure another person
- Hate speech. Attacks or slurs targeting people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic
- Sexual or explicit imagery. Nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit content, including sending unsolicited explicit images
- Violence and threats. Content that threatens, glorifies, or incites violence or self-harm against anyone
- Doxxing. Sharing or threatening to share someone's private information, such as their address, workplace, or phone number, without consent
- Spam and solicitation. Promotional spam, links to external services, scams, requests for money, or using Chosn to advertise or recruit
- Fake profiles and misrepresentation. Impersonating others, using fake or stolen photos, catfishing, or lying about who you are
- Bad-faith participation. Joining to harass childfree people, to argue that members should have children, or to try to convert anyone
- Illegal activity. Anything that violates the law, including content involving minors, which we report to the proper authorities
Reporting and Blocking
You always have control over your experience. If someone makes you uncomfortable, you do not have to engage with them.
- Block: Use the in-app block tool to immediately stop someone from contacting you or seeing your profile. They are not notified
- Report: Use the in-app report tool on a profile or message to flag anything that breaks these guidelines. Reports are confidential, and our team reviews them
If you ever feel that you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services first. You can also reach us at hello@chosn.co.
How We Enforce These Guidelines
When something is reported, or when we detect a violation, we review it and take action. The response depends on the severity and the pattern of behavior, and may include:
- A warning. A notice that something crossed the line, with a chance to correct it
- Content removal. Taking down photos, messages, or profile details that break these guidelines
- Temporary suspension. Pausing access while we review, or as a consequence for a violation
- Permanent ban. Removing an account entirely, at our discretion, for serious or repeated violations
Serious violations, like threats, explicit imagery, or anything involving minors, can result in an immediate permanent ban without warning. We act at our discretion to keep the community safe, and our decisions are final.
